Panelist bios:

Brian Hawkin is the Internet Marketing Manager for Pingo.com and co-organizer of BostonSEO.org and Affiliate Marketing Meetup202.com. He worked at 2 SEO agencies before becoming a Dad.

Larry Kim the founder and VP of Products at WordStream a provider of PPC Tools, Keyword Tools and SEO Tools. Larry founded the company in 2007 and secured a Series A venture capital investment from Sigma Partners in August 2008. He is currently responsible for defining WordStream's product direction and features.

Larry has a background in software engineering, software product management, and product marketing (including SEO and PPC), and he has authored four award-winning books on software development. He is also a frequent writer and speaker in various search marketing forums and events. Larry received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (with honors) from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada.

Derek Showerman's passion is strategy and execution on an action plan around the use of Social Media in relation to hardened business objectives such as SEO, Innovation, Business Intelligence, Market Research, Lead Generation, Brand Awareness, and Sales. My professional career began when I owned and ran a music website. I utilized "Web2.0" tools before they were utilized in the business world (2000-2004).

Nick Stamoulis is the President and Founder of Brick Marketing. With over 12 years of experience Nick Stamoulis has worked with hundreds of companies small, large and every size in between. Through his vast and diverse SEO, search engine marketing and internet marketing experience Nick Stamoulis has successfully increased the online visibility and sales of clients in all industries.

As a way to share his extensive knowledge about SEO and search engine marketing, Nick Stamoulis currently writes daily in his SEO blog, the Search Engine Optimization Journal (or SEO Journal) has grown to become one of the top SEO blogs in the search engine optimization and search engine marketing industry.

Mark Jones: Yahoo!
Sr. Manager, Search Account Management

Mark Jones began his media career at Weather.com where he started as a Media Delivery Coordinator (MDC). Less than a year after he started at Weather he took a job in Account Management working on business in the South Eastern region. A year later he moved into sales, managing Class 2 business for Weather.com and the sister properties. Finally, Mark took over managing sales for Intellicast.com as an Account Executive.

In September of 2006 Mark decided to take the next step in his career, joining Yahoo! as a search AM in Atlanta. After a year, Mark was promoted to Account Lead and was asked to move to Boston to help support and build the team there. In July of 2008 Mark was promoted to Manager of Creative Management, and then shortly after he transitioned into managing the Account Management team working under Andrew Fox. Currently, Mark manages Search Account Management for New York, Boston, Atlanta, and Canada.

Born in Atlanta, Ga. Mark holds a degree in Psychology from Georgia State University.

Teresa Elliott

Teresa Elliott is a Search Evangepst at Microsoft. She partners closely with agencies and advertisers to communicate the effectiveness of Bing and adCenter. Prior to joining the Evangelist team, Teresa was a Project Manager working on the integration of Microsoft and Yahoo! through the Search Alpance. She worked closely with partners at both Yahoo! and Microsoft to plan and execute the paid search integration between the two companies. Her goal was to ensure that the integration was a seamless experience for advertisers, agencies, and internal sales and service teams.

As a graduate of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Teresa previously worked in client services providing strategic insights and campaign analysis to advertisers ranging from retail to financial services. She started managing paid search in adCenter just as live Search was released for beta and helped advertisers grow their campaigns with the launch of Bing.

Todd Van Hoosear

Todd Van Hoosear is a principal at Fresh Ground, Inc. and a professional communicator and technologist with more than 15 years of industry experience. Since 2004, he has focused much of his time and energy on the worlds of Web 2.0 and social media. Todd blogs about social media strategies and technologies and their impact not just on corporate communications, marketing and PR professionals, but also on company executives and other business stakeholders.

As a Fellow with the Society for New Communications Research, Todd is conducting primary and secondary research into social media and Web 2.0 adoption among companies and organizations. As a member of the Social Media Club’s board of directors, Todd is shaping the organization’s ability to help people be responsible and informed citizens in the new media world. As a member of the IABC’s Social Media Release Working Group, Todd is working closely with the media, public relations and microformats communities to establish a standard way of distributing ‘official’ organizational communications through blogs and RSS technology.

In addition to his efforts heading up the Boston Social Media Club, Todd has spoken about social media and digital communications at NewComm Forum, Boston University, Emerson College, Bentley College, the Yankee IABC, New England Women Business Owners, Public Relations Society of America, Mass Tech Leadership Council and the American Marketing Association–not to mention numerous social media events.

Greg Jarboe

Greg Jarboe is president and co-founder of SEO-PR, which provides search engine optimization, public relations, social media, and video marketing services. Founded in 2003, SEO-PR has won a Golden Ruler Award from the Institute for Public Relations and PR News, and was a finalist for SES Awards in three categories: Best Social Media Marketing Campaign, Best Business-to-Business Search Marketing Campaign, and Best Integration of Search with Other Media.

Jarboe is the author of YouTube and Video Marketing: An Hour a Day and one of the people profiled in Michael Miller’s book, Online Marketing Heroes: Interviews with 25 Successful Online Marketing Gurus. He’s also a correspondent for Search Engine Watch and SESConferenceExpo’s Channel on YouTube as well as a frequent speaker at Search Engine Strategies.

Jarboe is a member of the Rutgers University faculty and Market Motive faculty. He’s a principal in the ChannelOne Marketing Group.
